Spanish World is a Spanish language learning group dedicated to offer high quality Spanish courses in Asia for people who want to expand their knowledge, acquire competitive skills and connect to new friends.

Spanish World Hong Kong is the only Education Bureau Registered Spanish School in Hong Kong with Cervantes Institute Quality Seal.

When you think about countries like Spain, Mexico, Venezuela and Cuba you think about cultural diversity, crossroad of civilizations and passion for life.

It is our mission to bring this rich and enticing world of Spanish to people in Asia, so through the language, students can connect to and be part of the Spanish speaking world.

Exactly how do we achieve this?

Quality teaching:

Spanish World has earned the Instituto Cervantes Accreditation Quality Seal, the only internationally recognized seal in the World in terms of Spanish Language Teaching Excellency. This goes beyond the obvious and basic need of having professional teachers. More about Instituto Cervantes Accreditation Quality Seal.

Qualified teachers:

Worth highlighting that at Spanish World all teachers are qualified and experienced professionals, in addition to all being native from Spanish speaking countries. All our teachers have specific qualifications for teaching Spanish as a foreign language (Español como Lengua Extranjera. E.L.E. or higher). You can be 100% sure that your teacher will be a real professional educator who knows what is needed to help students to communicate in Spanish language. Meet our team.

Consistent and progressive learning programmes:

We have developed a continuing set of programmes, one building upon the other. This means that with the exception of C2 (not offered in Hong Kong) no level or age is left aside, ensuring a seamless learning.

Clear progress between Playgroup (Age 3 -5), Kids (Age 6-9) and Teens (Age 10-13 & 14-17).

We never stop improving and adapting our programmes. A program is a tool not a goal on its own.

Icon Message
Spanish Language takes Centre Stage:

We believe in a communicative approach to the learning of the language. That means Spanish will be used most of the time in class. Nevertheless, no methodology is perfect and flexibility and adaptation to the students’ characteristics is always necessary. We believe we reached that equilibrium for local students.

Small Class:

Playgroup: 4 to 6 students
Kids:
4 to 10 students
Teen:
4 to 10 students
Adults: 8 to 12 students

With small class sizes, our teachers can get to know each student as an individual, working with them to enhance their strengths and improve their weaknesses.

Flexible Admin Process:

Meaning a student oriented admin process. Capacity to deal individually with regards student needs, capacity to respond quickly and efficiently when communication is needed. Capacity to advice and counsel students. student manual.

  • Ph.D in Hispanic Literature and Theory of Literature by the University of Valladolid (Spain)
  • Master in Special Needs Education at the University of Oslo

Beside of teaching Spanish language lessons, I am responsible for teacher’s training, as well as maintaining and ensuring quality in teaching. My goal is to consolidate an appropriate working atmosphere in order to promote the teaching of Spanish language and culture in the most pleasant and appropriate way for our young students.

Studied in Hispanic Literature and Theory of Literature by the University of Valladolid (Spain), My Ph.D. focuses on inter-textual connections among cultural texts, claiming the notion of Literature as an enormous single book ready to be used by readers and writers. I have published several articles in pear review journals as well as chapters in specialized books in Spanish.

With more than eight years of teaching experience, I am conscious of the importance of attending diversity in the classroom and situating the student in the center of the teaching-learning process. My desire to excel as a teacher led me to Norway, where I took a Master in Special Needs Education at the University of Oslo. This degree has broadened my knowledge about teaching technics and methodologies, which I am willing to apply in Spanish World.

“During the past 5 years, I have been teaching Spanish in England, Spain and here in Hong Kong, where my love for teaching language has grown while witnessing how learning a second language can bring a positive and enduring impact on life. It is there to enhance the culture, understanding the values, norms and manners of others. People learn who they really are through the learning process and find out how others communicate and live.
Teaching is a challenging career, nothing but rewarding. It requires the best of the teacher but also the aim of learning has to be intentional for the student. There is where the magic and the communication happens, teacher and student are sharing knowledge and both are learning about themselves and their cultures. Could any job be more exciting?”
